Dogfish Head welcomes new brewing ambassador and vice president of operations

Brewery celebrates return of Bryan Selders and Brian Hollinger
May 6, 2017

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery management is proud to announce that two trusted and all-around awesome coworkers, Bryan Selders as brewing ambassador, and Brian Hollinger as vice president of operations, have come home to rejoin its hospitality and brewing teams.

"Brian and Bryan were integral contributors to the success and growth of Dogfish years ago, and we love opportunities like this. Both of these gents have continued to grow as leaders and brewers after leaving Dogfish, and they are bringing their expanded skills and experience back to our community of talented and passionate coworkers," says Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head CEO and founder.

Craft brewing veteran Selders will return to Dogfish at the end of May in the new and exciting role of brewing ambassador with the beautiful new Rehoboth brewpub campus as his base camp. Selders will continue to keep the pipeline of brewpub exclusive beers full, brew experimental beer with Calagione and other Dogfish brewers, and also work to represent the brand at Dogfish Head hospitality locations and events. Selders first joined Dogfish in 2002 and has enjoyed a two-decade-long career in the brewing world, including his last stint with Dogfish Head as head brewer.

Selders, aka DJ Little Guy, and Calagione, aka Funkmaster IBU, are founding members of The Pain Relievaz, the world's one and only beer-geek, tongue-in-cheek, hip-hop ensemble. The Pain Relievaz rocked the mic for years, dropping an inaugural album in 2003 and a sophomore album in 2005. For a couple years, Selders took a short break from his Dogfish family as he explored creative endeavors in the graphic design world and management roles in the brewing industry. Joining Selders in his homecoming to coastal Delaware are his wife and children.

Dogfish Head team members are equally delighted to share that industry veteran Brian Hollinger will rejoin his team as vice president of operations. In his new role, Hollinger will be charged with overseeing off-centered brewing, production, packaging and logistics. Hollinger originally joined Dogfish in 2009, working in various management roles in the engineering department. He was an effective engineering/brewing technology leader on the team that oversaw some of the biggest equipment and facility expansions in the 22-year history of the company. In 2011, he ventured outside of Dogfish to undertake and lead operations teams in a central leadership position at a southern craft brewery. Hollinger returns to Southern Delaware with his wife and daughter.
