Dominick Remedio III, passionate about cars

Dominick Remedio III, 65, of Pike Creek Valley, passed away peacefully the night of Monday, Nov. 25, 2024. His long battle with cancer ended while surrounded by his loved ones.

Dominick was born Sept. 26, 1959, and graduated from McKean High School Class of 1977. He worked at the Delaware State Hospital as security superintendent. After 31 years, he retired and spent most of his free time working on his cars, watching his grandchildren grow up, and relaxing with family and friends.

Dominick “Nick” was a loving father and grandfather. His greatest passion was buying, repairing, and showing off cars. It brought him great joy to be a member of the Mopar classic car club. In his youth, he loved spending summers on his grandparents’ farm, driving farm equipment, and taking care of the milk cows. Dominick loved summers at the beach and hot days out boating with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Millman; father, Dominick Remedio II; grandparents, Mary Gregerson, and Richard and Grace Millman.

He is survived by his son, Justen Remedio; daughters, Maegan and Kayla Remedio; brother, Rich Millman; and stepfather, Richard Millman. He had the honor to see grandchildren Nykole, Jesse Jr., Justen Jr. and Iris. 

Dominick will be remembered by many and loved by all. His witty humor and charisma will forever be in the hearts of all who loved him. In Dominick’s own words to his grandparents, “I won’t say goodbye for they’ve gone somewhere greater. I just have to wait, so I’ll see you later.”

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Dec. 7, at Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at White’s Chapel Cemetery, 15373 Coastal Hwy., Milton.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice or a favorite charity.
