Donna T. Waller, devout Catholic
Donna T. (Van Velsor) Waller, 80, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born Nov. 16, 1943, in Islip, N.Y., to the late Garrett L. and Kathleen A. Van Velsor.
Donna graduated from the New York Foundling School of Nursing. Married in 1965, she and her husband were foster parents to children both in New York and Delaware for 25 years. While raising her family, she was involved in Girl Scouts, various PTAs, and her local parish, devoutly serving as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion for many years.
In addition to her parents and her sister, Kathleen J. Von Urff, she was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, James F. Waller; and son, Andrew J. Waller. She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn T. Waller of New Castle, Donà M. Hill and her husband Michael of Spotsylvania, Va., and Kevin M. Waller of New Castle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 10, at St. Jude The Apostle Church, Lewes. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday July 9, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Lewes.
