Doris J. Tana, A to Z Builders co-owner

Doris J. Tana, 78, of Lewes, passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2016,at  home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Monday, Oct. 3, 1938, in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of the late Leonard and Ann (Tomich) DeFontes.

Mrs. Tana was a 1957 graduate of Patterson Park High School and earned a degree in business from Strayer Business School. She was an administrative assistant for many years in the construction industry, and was a co-owner of A to Z Builders. She married the love of her life, Frederick John Tana, Aug. 22, 1959, and there began their life and family together.
Mrs. Tana enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved traveling, reading and bird-watching, and was a collector of dolls. Her most cherished times, however, were those spent with her family and her grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

Mrs. Tana is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Frederick J. Tana of Lewes; her son, John Tana and his wife Brenda of Lewes; her daughters: Gina Tana, of Havre de Grace, Md., Teresa Borradaile and her husband Tony of Centerville, Md., and Tasha Tana-Dawson and her husband Chris of Lewes; and her grandchildren: Amanda, Laura, Anthony, Gabby, John Jr., Nicholas, Ryan, Lauria, and Tara Bella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8, at noon, at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. A viewing will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Burial will immediately follow the services at Conley's Chapel (United Methodist) Cemetery, 22150 Robinsonville Road, Lewes.

The family suggests contributions in Mrs. Tana's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 625 Georgetown, DE 19947.
