Downtown Lewes in the late 1960s

December 9, 2016

This aerial photograph from the late 1960s shows downtown Lewes before the Fisherman’s Wharf docks and structures were built.  Careful examination also shows many other empty spaces where new structures and parks have been built in the past half century including Shipcarpenters Square and the Canalfront Park. This photograph is part of an extensive collection from Delaware’s economic development initiatives through the years.
