Dylan Andrei Vansant, aviation inspector
Dylan Andrei Vansant passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024. He was born July 4, 1995, in Moscow, Russia.
He arrived in the United States two days shy of his first birthday. He spent most of his early years growing up in Rehoboth Beach.
Dylan was a high school graduate of St. Thomas More Academy in Magnolia, where he was a member of the golf and swim teams. Next, he graduated from Delaware Technical Community College at its Georgetown campus with a degree in aviation maintenance technology.
Following graduation, Dylan worked as an aviation maintenance technician and quality control inspector for Piedmont Airlines in Salisbury, Md., and Charlotte, N.C. Upon his return to Delaware, he accepted a position with ALOFT AeroArchitects as a quality control inspector in Georgetown. He was working there as a proud member of the ALOFT team at the time of his death.
Dylan is survived by his grandmother, Eleanor Vansant; his parents, Joseph and Denise Vansant; and countless loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship fund has been established: the Dylan A. Vansant Memorial Scholarship to support aviation maintenance technology students. Donations may be made to Delaware Technical Community College, PO Box 897, Dover, DE 19903.
A memorial service will be held in Dylan’s honor at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, at St. George’s Chapel, 20271 Beaver Dam Road, Harbeson. Following the service, a private burial limited to family members will be held in the adjacent cemetery.
