Earl and Arlene Werkheiser celebrate 60th anniversary

Earl and Arlene (Rash) Werkheiser of Lewes were married Sept. 5, 1964, in Peninsula McCabe United Methodist Church, Wilmington.
They both grew up in the Wilmington area and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. They lived in New Castle for more than 30 years and moved to the beach in 2002. Earl retired from DuPont and is now a self-employed contractor. Arlene retired from Verizon, formerly Diamond State Telephone Company.
They enjoy beach living, traveling, the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, and gardening.
They have a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Sean, and two grandchildren, Spencer, 15, and Preston, 13, of Middletown.
