February 22, 2024

Eastern Sussex Democrats will meet at 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, in the Lewes Public Library’s large meeting room. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. with a buffet dinner before the presentation. The cost is $25 per person for ESD members and $30 for nonmembers. Attendees can pay at the door or pay in advance at easternsussexdemocrats.com.

For the 2024 election season, the Eastern Sussex Democrats will be hosting appearances by many candidates in coming months.

The March 5 guests will be gubernatorial candidate and current Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, and congressional candidate and current State Treasurer Colleen Davis.

Hall-Long has served as lieutenant governor since 2017, having also served in the Delaware House of Representatives from 2002-08 and in the Delaware Senate from 2008-17.

Davis was elected state treasurer in November 2018 and re-elected for a second term in 2022. Since taking office, Davis has focused on three main priorities: bolstering retirement security and readiness, creating pathways to economic empowerment, and promoting a culture of financial excellence.

Eastern Sussex Democrats is an independent club focused on electing Democrats to office; advancing Democratic principles, policies and priorities that address social, racial and economic justice; and protecting the environment and conserving natural resources.
