Edward F. Rams, proud veteran

Edward F. Rams, 90, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Harbor Healthcare in Lewes. He was born May 13, 1933, in Hawthorne, N.J., son of the late John and Christine (Becker) Rams.

Edward married the love of his life, Nancy Jane Smith, June 29, 1957, and the two would spend nearly 66 years together, raising a beautiful family with countless memories. A proud veteran, Edward answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he rose to the rank of captain, retiring in 1966 after many years of distinguished service. After retirement, in his second career, he was a teacher and was also in business form sales. Above all things, Edward cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.   

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his daughter, Keren L. Rams. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his daughter, Jacquelyn Martin (Bill) of Lewes; his son, Kenneth Rams (Barbara) of Florida; his grandchildren, Kristin Thompson (Lee) and Keren Rams of Lewes, and his great-grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Thompson also of Lewes.

Services will be private.
