Edward J. Allman Sr., Navy veteran, outdoorsman

Edward J. “Jack” Allman Sr., 99, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 16, 2024.  

Jack was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa., where he raised his family and sold building material. 

Jack was a devoted outdoorsman. He loved being out on his boat with his son, fishing and crabbing. He also loved woodworking and collecting model cars. He proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. 

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Allman; and his son, Jeff Allman. He is survived by his oldest son, Jack Allman Jr.; his companion, Helen Campanella; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Allman, Jacky Allman, Jeremy Allman, Jon Allman and Chelsea Allman; and several great-grandchildren.

A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may gather after 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Jack’s name to a veteran charity of choice.
