Edwin ‘Ed’ E. Jeffries Jr., devoted to family

Edwin "Ed" E. Jeffries Jr., 89, of Ocean View passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020, at  Bayhealth in Milford.  He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Edwin Sr. and Margaret Jeffries.

Ed graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Md.  He was a proud veteran, serving honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1950-53, doing search and rescue missions at Ellis Island, N.Y.  Following his military service, Ed held jobs in the HVAC field, working for Washington Gas Company, A.P. Woodson, Thomas Somerville, Trane and Pepco.  He was a faithful, longtime member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Silver Spring and Community Lutheran Church in Frankfort.  Above all, Ed cherished time spent with those he held most dear.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Steve.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Beverly Shetler Jeffries; his siblings: Paul, Joe, June and Ann;  his sons: Jim Jeffries, Tim Jeffries, and John Jeffries; and his six grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Miranda, Hannah, Leah and Jenna.

Services will be private.  Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Clarksville Chapel, Ocean View.
