Exalted Ruler Eileen Loftus of the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 recently welcomed District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Thomas P. Simon. Simon visited the lodge Oct. 15, with his auditor and esquire, and reviewed lodge administrative procedures, examined financial records and inspected the physical premises of the lodge. It was one of many official visits to the Elks lodges on Delmarva.
Simon returned Oct. 21 during the Elks’ regular meeting, and reported his conclusions to the officers and membership. Loftus reported that all records have been found to be in order and that the Cape Henlopen Elks accounting practices are in compliance with Grand Lodge requirements.
In a speech to the members, Simon emphasized the importance of community awareness and welcomed anyone who is interested in this fraternal organization to contact their local Elks Lodge.
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is a philanthropic fraternal organization whose members invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, by undertaking projects that address unmet needs, and by honoring the service and sacrifice of U.S. veterans.
