The Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 Veterans Committee recently presented a $500 check to Cape Henlopen High School JROTC to help cover costs associated with off-campus projects that the students must personally fund. Examples include transportation costs to serve as color guard at various veterans' events, laying wreaths at Wreaths Across America, and attending other community fundraisers.
Coordinators hope this donation to the Cape High JROTC will go a long way in supporting community service and patriotism, goals shared by the Elks as well.
