Eloise G. McDonough, Kraft Foods retiree
Eloise G. (Corcoran) McDonough, 76, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 2, 2024, at her home in Lewes.
She was born April 28, 1947, on Staten Island, N.Y., to parents Daniel and Violet Corcoran. In the early 1950s, the family and brother Douglas moved to Sayreville, N.J., where they eventually welcomed sister Arlene. In 1960, they moved for the last time as a family to New Castle, where they settled in at Jefferson Farms. She graduated from William Penn High School, where she met her first husband, Ralph. They welcomed a son in 1970.
Eloise eventually found her way to Kraft Foods, where she dedicated four decades. Her commitment and work ethic were exemplary, earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and bosses throughout her time there. After retirement, Eloise found herself working with her late husband of 33 years, Jim, in their safety consulting business. Later in life, she worked part time at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes with her good friend, Cheryl.
Outside of work, Eloise cherished her friends from New Castle, her crew on Greybull, and weekends spent down at Treasure Beach. She found later in life that the greatest joy was to be in the company of her 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They, besides her amazing son, were her pride and joy!
Her compassionate nature, spunky spirit, and snappy attitude always made or left an impression wherever she went. Her kindness and unconditional love for her family left an indelible mark on all fortunate enough to know her. Eloise will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of love and dedication will live on.
She is survived by her son, Kelly (Sherry); her stepchildren, Jimmy, Megan (Tommy) and Leigh Ann (Matt); her brother, Doug; and sister, Arlene.
A celebration of Eloise's life will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, March 15, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
