Episcopal Church Women transform Christmas Shop

October 16, 2016

The Episcopal Church Women of All Saints Episcopal Church in Rehoboth Beach and St. George's Chapel in Harbeson had to depart from their traditional Christmas Shop fundraiser Rehoboth Beach Convention Center because of construction underway at city hall.

The group adapted to the challenge by holding Celebration 2016 - The Rehoboth Christmas Shop at the Atlantic Sands Hotel Swan Ballroom Oct. 5. Celebration 2016 was like the very popular preview party but without the shops.

The Rev. Max Wolf said, "With no shops, why would you attend? Because it is a fundraising party to support several essential local charities. While socializing with old and new friends, people will enjoy delicious food donated by top local restaurants, cocktails and other beverages, chances to win raffles, singing from members of the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus, and a fashion show featuring stylish outfits from both the All Saints' Parish Thrift Shop in Rehoboth Beach and St. George's Thrift Shop in Millsboro."

There are seven designated charities this year that will benefit from money raised at Celebration 2016. Each charity will have its own Christmas Tree to highlight its mission. The charities are Camp Arrowhead, the Community Resource Center, Immanuel Shelter, Crisis House Shelter, The Way Home, West Rehoboth Children and Youth Program, and Delaware National Alliance on Mental Illness.
