Epworth Preschool holds Christmas program

December 25, 2024

Epworth Preschool held its annual Christmas program Dec. 20 in the Epworth United Methodist Church sanctuary outside Rehoboth Beach.

Five classes entertained parents, family and friends with songs of the season.

The Duckling Class sang “Happy Birthday to Jesus,” “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” “Long Long Ago” and “Nine Little Reindeer.”

The Dolphin Class sang “Where is Santa,” “Bells on the Sleigh” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

The Turtle Class sang “Holly Jolly Christmas,” “Christmastime,” “Up On the Housetop” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

The Penguin Class and the Starfish Class sang “Jingle Bells,” “I’ve Been Waiting for Christmas,” “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” and “Mary Had a Baby Boy.”

The Pelican Class sang “Christmas Lights,” “S-A-N-T-A,” “Come On, Ring Those Bells” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”

“Epworth Preschool has been entertaining families with the annual All School Christmas Program for over 35 years,” said Epworth Preschool Director Betsy Plowman. “I often tell the families who come to see the show that it will be one of the best hours of their holiday season. Children, who a few short months ago were clinging to their parents and shyly entering classrooms, are now standing on a stage with new and old friends, and sharing Christmas and holiday songs with their families. I like to say that the friendships are the gift and singing is the bonus.”

A special guest in a red suit and white beard showed up at the end of the program to get pictures with the preschoolers while light refreshments were served.
