Evangelist Jamaal Bivens: Outstanding leader and educator

Radical, revolutionary, innovative, anointed and cutting-edge are some of the words used to describe Evangelist Jamaal K. Bivens. He endeavors to impact the world educationally, economically, spiritually and culturally. Bivens is a minister with a global mission, which is to empower the world through the word. As guest speaker for the 2015 Sussex County NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet, Bivens was recently featured in Delmarva African American Pride Magazine.

Accepting the call from God at an early age, he has been on a great journey. Bivens has occupied the offices of musician, praise and worship leader, youth advisor, associate minister and community activist. He is currently an educator for a local school district. He spends countless hours mentoring the youth of today. In 2011, Bivens was appointed by Gov. Jack Markell to the State Human Relations Commission.

Bivens has distinguished himself and attained great accomplishments.He delivered a powerful sermon Feb. 16, 2012, when state elected officials echoed his message “It’s time to work.” He received a bachelor’s degree in biblical counseling through the Christian Leadership Institute via Virginia Wesleyan University.

He has established himself not just a leader in the kingdom of God, but in his home as well. He is a loving husband to his wife Doris ’Mamie’ Bivens, and a father of three children Juan, Jadaya and Deven.
