Fall gardening for wildlife guided walks set Oct. 15, 22

Fall gardening for wildlife walks will be held at 11 a.m., Fridays, Oct. 15 and 22, at Delaware Botanic Gardens, led by Director of Horticulture Stephen Pryce Lea.

“Stephen invites you to learn how to care for a range of perennial meadow garden plants in fall, share seed-gathering tips, and introduce pesticide-free gardening in the fifth season,” said Sheryl Swed, executive director.

“We will be taking a leisurely walk in Piet Oudolf’s two-acre meadow garden. We will learn how we maintain a fall garden retaining essential habitats, providing food and shelter for birds, bees, beneficial insects, and all wildlife during the dormant season,” said Pryce Lea.

The walk is free for botanic gardens members; nonmember adults pay admission of $12 plus a $10 tour fee.
