Perfect weather led to record crowds attending the Oct. 27-29 Children’s Fantasy Trail at the Seaside Nature Center in Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes. Dozens of volunteers carved pumpkins to mark the trail through the woods, as well portraying roles of non-scary characters from “The Wizard of Oz,” “Frozen,” “Beauty and the Beast” and many more as youngsters went trick-or-treating in costume.

Treat-or-treaters and their families follow the yellow brick road to see each of “The Wizard of Oz” characters.

Delaney Huxtable, portraying Belle from “Beauty and the Beast,” has candy to hand out to trail walkers.
