Fest Art to open at CAMP Rehoboth April 7

March 31, 2022

CAMP Rehoboth’s Fest Art 2022 will open Thursday, April 7, with an artists’ reception set for 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, April 8. A community favorite, this exhibit held in conjunction with CAMP Rehoboth’s Women’s Fest celebrates women in the arts and their supporters.

The juror for this year’s exhibition is Rebecca Davidson, a contemporary abstract expressionist painter who earned a bachelor of arts degree in studio art from Delaware State University, and a master of fine arts degree in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design. Their work has been shown in numerous juried and solo exhibitions across the country, including CAMP Rehoboth.

“We had over 100 submissions from 40 artists. It was extremely challenging to narrow it down to just 40 works, especially with the caliber of some of the work we received,” said Davidson. “Since Women’s Fest is one of my favorite annual CAMP Rehoboth events, I feel really honored to have been selected to jury and curate this exhibition. I think it is important for LGBTQ+ artists and organizations to support each other and work together.”

Some 28 artists are displaying work for Fest Art 2022, in a variety of mediums including oil and acrylic painting, photography, collage, ceramics, fused glass, graphite and more.

Participating artists include Daniel Bartasavich, Bryant T. Bell, Susan Daily, Sharrill Dittmann, Samuel E. Dixon, Jane Duffy, Sheila Exum, Logan Farro, Kiara Florez, Susan Frey, Yvonne Frankis, Taylor Gordon, Donna Hitchens, Joann Kott Hughes, Kaz Huston, LaVerne McIntyre, Kim Klabe, Jane Knaus, Marta Nammack, Judy Olsen, Bev (Morgan) Pasquarella. Mara Rago, Deborah Saks, Leslie Sinclair, R. Stiles, Roberta Tucci, Carol A. Yost and Yona Zucker. Juror Rebecca Davidson will also have a work on display.

CAMP Rehoboth is at 37 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach. The art will also be available for viewing and purchase beginning April 7 on the CAMP Rehoboth website, camprehoboth.com, under “shop.”
