Firefighters respond to Lewes-area blaze

Firefighters from Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Milton and Indian River responded to a fire April 18 in a multifamily unit near American Classic Golf Course west of Lewes.
The fire was reported about 4:45 p.m. on Bethpage Drive in Heritage Village behind the Acme shopping center. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke showing from a middle unit of a townhouse building.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access for the duration of the incident.
