Frances Rita Tobin, avid traveler, volunteer

Frances Rita (nee Eppley) Tobin, 93, of Lewes, died Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was born Dec. 4, 1931, to Geary Francis and Elizabeth Flenner Eppley in Washington, D.C.

Frances attended University of Maryland, where she earned a bachelor of science degree (1952) and a master of science in microbiology (1954). 

She is predeceased by her husband, Henry H. Hunt IV (2023). She is survived by her four children, Richard (Beryl), Susan (Cathy), Linda (Linda), and Kathleen; four grandchildren, Michael (Katy), Jeffrey, Alison (John) and Emily; four great-grandsons, Connor, Jacob, John and Elijiah; and brother, Geary Eppley. She is also predeceased by her former husband, Jerry C. Tobin (2015); and sister, Libby Danforth.

Frances divided her time between homes in Oradell, N.J., Westerly, R.I., St Croix, USVI, and Lewes. She was an avid traveler, scuba diver, and volunteer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, April 6, at The Moorings at Lewes, Lewes. All who knew and loved Frances are welcome to join the family.
