October 13, 2019

A free, one-stop community health education event will be offered from 10:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth. The focus will be on mental health education and support for older adults. Staying informed about managing mental and physical health conditions can be complicated, and this workshop is designed to help.

Attendees can hear from a leading expert in mental health, Andy Feinberg, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist and faculty member at Johns Hopkins Medicine. His keynote address will focus on advances in diagnosis and treatment, the challenges of managing multiple medications, and understanding the roles of different treating professionals.

In the afternoon, a team of providers will discuss how to develop a plan of personalized aging support services to improve and foster a higher quality of life when juggling multiple health and life issues. A full array of community health providers will have information tables, and a light complimentary lunch will be served. The event is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Delaware and Jewish Family Services of Delaware; it will be hosted by Epworth UMC.
