Friends and neighbors of Senators return from Alaskan adventure

February 22, 2025

Friends and neighbors of Senators in Lewes recently returned from a two-week Alaskan adventure, which included a land tour and cruise, where they experienced near-perfect weather each day. Their Alaskan tour started in Fairbanks with a bonus sighting of the Northern Lights and a riverboat tour. These Alaskan adventurers next traveled by glass-domed train for a four-hour ride to Denali National Park. Once in the park, they could see Denali (formerly named Mount McKinley) and Alaskan wildlife. After leaving Denali, the group traveled to Anchorage before boarding the Celebrity Summit in Seward for their southbound cruise to Vancouver. During the cruise, the group made stops at the Hubbard and Mendenhall glaciers, and took the SkyGlider Gondola ride to the top of Hoonah Mountain at Icy Strait Point. Whale watching was another of their adventures in both Juneau and Icy Strait Point, where they were able to share the sea with humpback whales, orcas, porpoises, seals, sea otters, and an abundance of bald eagles. The tour continued through the Inside Passage with a stop in Ketchikan before ending in Vancouver.
