Garden center to kick off ReWild Delmarva Oct. 14-15

Native planting initiative supports wildlife
September 20, 2022

Inland Bays Garden Center recently announced ReWild Delmarva, an initiative to support pollinators and wildlife by encouraging the planting and preservation of native plants, trees and shrubs.

The garden center will kick-start the adventure with a celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14 and 15, 38320 Muddy Neck Road, Frankford.

Both pollinator and bird-lover plant bundles will be offered, with a free plant included with the purchase of five plants. Local tastes of autumn will be provided as well as wildflower meadow seeds to blossom in gardeners’ outdoor space next year.

Based at Inland Bays Garden Center, ReWild Delmarva supports the important impact everyone can all make on the landscape in their yards, on their decks and throughout the area. Planting for pollinators and birds can be done in a small pot or garden, or in substituting a meadow for all or any part of a front lawn.

ReWild Delmarva supports establishment of Homegrown National Parks, a national movement started by Dr. Doug Tallamy, a University of Delaware professor and noted conservationist. By being together in relationship with nature and one another, people can connect and make a difference through native plants.
