Garrett Coleman, had distinguished career

January 18, 2024

Garrett Coleman, born in Winchester, Mass.,  April 23, 1958, and raised in Arlington, Mass., passed away peacefully at Delaware Hospice in Milford Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, with his wife, Pamela (née Silvestri), by his side.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his brother, Paul Coleman (Sheila) of Millis, Mass., and sister, Joan Shelley (Bill), of Essex Junction, Vt. Garrett is predeceased by his parents, Alma (née Barry) and Paul Coleman.

Garrett retired from his distinguished career in internet security at Burris Logistics in 2023. Prior to his time at Burris, he dedicated many years of service to Citigroup before making a move to the beach with Pam in 2004. After retirement, Garrett found solace in fishing on his pontoon at Indian River. His second home was The Crab Barn Restaurant, affectionately dubbed "Adult Day Care," where his cherished friends gathered.

In his earlier days, Garrett was an enthusiastic hockey player in an adult league after coaching a youth league. He had a passion for birding and gardening, particularly nurturing orchids. A Massachusetts native, Garrett remained a die-hard Boston Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox fan, demonstrating unwavering loyalty.

Garrett's love for dogs was evident throughout his life. He rescued many from shelters, raising them as his own children. Surely, they have all met him at the rainbow bridge.

Garrett's absence will be deeply felt. His sarcastic wit, intuitive wisdom, and compassion for anyone in need will be remembered fondly by many.

A Celebration of Garrett's life will be held at the Crab Barn in Long Neck in the near future.

Donations in his name may be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, bvspca.org/donate/honor-a-life.

May Garrett Coleman rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
