Gary Fowler, retired cement finisher
Mr. Gary Atwood Fowler, 67, of Millsboro passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, in the care of his family and Delaware Hospice.
Mr. Fowler was born Jan. 12, 1952, in Baltimore, Md., to the late William and Denise Seville Fowler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Wright; and a son, Todd Moreland.
Gary was a retired cement finisher. He was a member of Crossroad Community Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Gary was an amazing man who was quiet, but strong-spirited, never knew a stranger, and was willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed his home and family very much.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Arlene Fowler of Millsboro; two children, Aaron Moreland of Millsboro, and Scott Moreland and his wife Lorie of Dothan, Ala.; a sister, Francine Willhide and husband Larry of Jacksonville, Fla.; a nephew, Brien Willhide and his wife Linh, and great-nephew Erik Willhide of Jacksonville. Gary is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Howard DuVal, Christine and Albert Potts, and Elizabeth and Roy Dailey. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Amanda, Christie, Bradley, Todd Jr., Kayla and Sarah, as well as nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 13, at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Millsboro.
