Geeks at the Beach attracts creative crowd

The first Geeks at the Beach, a much smaller local rendition of Comic Con in San Diego, brought 29 vendors and artists to Cape Henlopen High School July 27, showcasing comic books, novels, artwork, vintage action figures, clothing and varied other items.
Sean Ahrendt, artist and co-promoter, said he’d always wanted to do something similar to the San Diego event, so this was like a dream for him.
The inaugural event turned out to be a hit. Co-promoter Heather Reed said people visited all day long dressed in cosplay looking around and taking photos.
