George H. Edwards Jr., enjoyed sports
George H. Edwards Jr., 58, of Milton, departed this life Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Affectionately known as “Buster” or “Beep,” George was born Dec. 16, 1962, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, to the Rev. George H. and Ardeth S. Edwards of Milton.
George attended Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes. He played baseball for Lewes Little League and football for the Cape Henlopen Vikings.
As a youth, George was active at Friendship Baptist Church in Lewes. He was loved and admired by many.
George leaves to cherish his memory, one son, George H. Poulson; loving parents, Rev. George H. Edwards Sr. and Ardeth S. Edwards; ex-wife, Melisa Edwards; two stepsons; two sisters, Georgia L. Perry (Prentice) and Lisa Edwards; two grandsons; a special niece, Joleesha Edwards; a special cousin, Charles Turner; two nephews, Prentice Perry Jr. and Andrew Edwards; two aunts; two uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, at Friendship Baptist Church, 500 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Lewes. Family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service. A public viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10, at Friendship Baptist Church.
