Georgetown teen dies in Millsboro motorcycle crash

A Georgetown man, 19, died in an Aug. 2 motorcycle crash at Shiloh Church Road in Millsboro.

Police say Gabriel Hearn was driving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Rockaway Acres Road, approaching Shiloh Church Road. At the same time, a Chevrolet Tahoe was driving eastbound on Shiloh Church Road approaching Rockaway Acres Road. 

Police said the motorcycle tried to make a left onto Shiloh Church Road and went into the Tahoe’s lane of travel. Hearn was struck by the front of the Tahoe and fell off his motorcycle. The Tahoe veered off the road and hit two trees. 

Hearn was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Tahoe, a 39-year-old Laurel woman, and her passenger, a 12-year-old child, were not injured. Police say the roadway was closed for three hours while the incident was investigated and cleared.
