Geraldine H. Wright, loved getaways

April 3, 2011

Geraldine H. Wright, 69, of Millsboro, joined our Lord Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at her home by the sea surrounded by her loving family after a courageous almost three year battle with cancer.

Born May 16, 1941 in Pottstown, Pa., she was the daughter of Jeanette Harp and the late Ralph Harp. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, George H. Wright; two children, Todd A. Wright of Millsboro and Troy L. Wright of Oak Park, Calif.; her mother, Jeanette Harp of Millsboro; one grandson, Christopher T. Wright of Camden; and a sister, Patti Britton of Marion, Conn. Family meant everything to Gerri and she was their world. She loved the water and getaways with her husband, especially to Hawaii where they created so many wonderful memories. Gerri was a beautiful, selfless, strong and compassionate woman who made the lives of those who knew her brighter.

She was a 1959 graduate of Pottsgrove High School, and she and her husband (formerly of New Castle and Clayton) retired to Millsboro in 2003. She was a member of Long Neck Methodist church. Visitation was held Saturday, April 2, at Melson Funeral Home, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, followed by a memorial service at the Pot Nets Seaside, Long Neck Road, Millsboro, at the gazebo by the water. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that memorial contributions in Gerri's name be made to the American Cancer Society, 800-227-2345 or www.cancer.org and Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 DuPont Blvd. Suite 6, Millsboro, DE 19966.
