Gladys Harmon, loved family, God

Gladys Harmon, 65, departed this life Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in Wilmington. She was born April 4, 1959, to the late Raymond Lee and Mary Liza Jackson in Roxanna. 

Gladys was educated in the Sussex Central School District. She was employed with Vlasic Foods for over 20 years until she retired. She loved all her family and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Gladys had a big heart and she loved to laugh, joke and play around. She enjoyed reading and studying the word of God, and listening to gospel music. Her favorite gospel songs were “Only Imagine” and “My Redeemer Lives.”

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Quinn Harmon; her daughter, Katrina; her parents, Raymond Lee and Mary Liza Jackson; one brother, Ronnie Jackson; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Elizabeth Jackson.

Gladys leaves to cherish fond memories, two sons, Reginald (Terronda) Jackson of Blythewood, S.C., and Tolbert Harmon of Millsboro; one daughter, Quintina Harmon of Millsboro; two step-daughters, Meredis Fluitt of Long Neck, and Shawanda Fluitt of Ellendale; eight grandchildren, Xavier of Lugoff, S.C., Nykia of Columbia, S.C., Zion and Zane of Blythewood, S.C., Jamal, Sincere and Jordan of Dagsboro, and Jayce of Laurel; three great-grandchildren, Daran, Kehon and Hozai of Lugoff; two sisters, Mary E. Jackson and Linda (Alexander) Dorsey, both of Millsboro; two brothers, Forest Jackson of Millsboro, and Anthony (Linda) Jackson of Willingboro, N.J.; one sister-in-law, Tolbertetta Harmon; seven brothers-in-law, Hershell Harmon of North Carolina, Joshua Harmon of Austin, Texas, Timothy  (Danielle) Harmon of Smyrna, Curtis Harmon of Camden, Baron (Pandora) Harmon of Ellendale, Anthony (Eric) Harmon of Dallas, Texas, and Tolbert Harris of Dover; two godchildren, Trey and Leah of Seaford; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 27, at Watson Funeral Home and Crematorium, Millsboro, with a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park immediately following the service.

Gladys will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
