Highlighted by a costume parade on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, the annual Greyhounds Reach the Beach returned to the Cape Region for five days Oct. 5-9.
Greyhounds Reach the Beach is an annual charity event celebrating retired racing greyhounds, while creating awareness of the need for adoptive and foster homes. The event supports designated 501(c)(3) greyhound and sighthound adoption groups by donating net proceeds to them.
Started in 1995, Greyhounds Reach the Beach has been held at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center since 2019; prior to that, it was held in Dewey Beach.

Dressed as Princess Leia and an AT-AT (All-Terrain Armored Transport) are Kristin Bakkegard and Jovie.
Star Wars wasn’t the specific theme, but that’s pretty much what everyone went with, including Patti and Jack Glessner and their three dogs Pazzo, Amico and Leggo.
