Groome Church to present Cantabile Women’s Chorus May 7

Concert to benefit Village Volunteers and Music School of Delaware
April 21, 2023

Groome Church will host a concert at 4 pm., Sunday, May 7, featuring the Cantabile Women’s Chorus at 601 Savannah Road, Lewes. The show will benefit Village Volunteers and the Music School of Delaware.

The Rev. Dr. S. Willard Crossan, Groome pastor, said, “What could be better than the 22 soaring voices of the Cantabile Women’s Chorus? We are excited to have them with us before they head off to Scotland for a four-city, four-concert tour.

“We’re very pleased the concert will help support Village Volunteers. Their all-volunteer team of 143 dedicated individuals does terrific work and shows much kindness in helping our area’s older adults live independently in their communities. On a personal note, I know well their hard work. Over the years, some of Groome’s congregants have been greatly helped by the services offered by Village Volunteers,” Crossan said.

Jackie Sullivan, Village Volunteers executive director, said, “The collaboration of these two organizations, Groome Church and the Cantabile Women’s Chorus, is a lovely springtime gift to the greater Lewes-Rehoboth community and happily to the benefit recipients.”

The Music School of Delaware, founded in 1924, is the only statewide, accredited, community music school in Delaware. It is a resource available to the public, offering standard-setting instructional programs for people of all ages and abilities.
