Gruenebaum will approach issues comprehensively

October 22, 2024

There is a multitude of complaints throughout slower, lower Delaware about overdevelopment without considering the effect on our infrastructure, our emergency services and even our daily lives. Well, my friends, we can take the first steps to address this issue. On Tuesday, Nov. 5, cast your vote for Jane Gruenebaum for Sussex County Council District 3.

I am not suggesting that growth is bad, but it must be done in a thoughtful and balanced manner. The incumbent, Mark Schaeffer, has shown to be developer-friendly over the last three-and-a-half years. Look at the numbers – he voted no on developments involving 518 acres and about 400 homes; he voted yes on developments involving about 1,856 acres and about 2,815 homes!

Those very large signs supporting Schaeffer that you see while sitting in heavy traffic on Route 1 while on you’re way to a doctor's appointment that you had to wait eight months for are paid for by a developer-funded PAC. It's time for a changing of the guard.

Jane Gruenebaum will represent a fair and reasonable voice on Sussex County Council. She is not beholden to any special interests. She was a co-founder and president of Sussex Preservation Coalition, promoting sustainable development in Sussex County. She will approach issues comprehensively, weighing the impact on infrastructure, wildlife, emergency and medical services, and our daily lives. Enough is enough. Vote for Jane Gruenebaum for Sussex County Council.
