Gun violence expert to speak at AAUW meeting Nov. 17

The Coastal Georgetown branch of the American Association of University Women will meet at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, at Big Fish Restaurant in Rehoboth.

The featured speaker will be Traci Manza Murphy, Delaware Coalition Against Gun Violence executive director. Founded in 2012, the nonpartisan organization focuses on advancing evidence-based gun violence prevention policies and educational platforms, and supporting community intervention programs and gun violence survivors.

Murphy, the coalition’s first full-time employee, is a University of Delaware graduate, and an experienced writer and editor with technical savvy and a keen understanding of the power of community engagement, database issues, statistical analysis and strategic thinking.
