I am voting for Bethany!
Let me be clear: In 2015, Bethany Hall-Long was the person who got the telemedicine reimbursement bill signed by Gov. Jack Markell. Since 2014, she has checked in to see how Delawareans with Parkinson’s Disease are being cared for. Each year, Bethany has declared April as Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month and presented at our education conferences. Bethany has supported caregivers and nurses throughout the state for years by listening to their demands and working with the Delaware House and Senate across the aisle to get imperative legislation passed. This legislation mandated that action be taken on the needs of caregivers, and those of nurse practitioners. She did this to ensure measures were taken then evaluated, and adjustments were made.
Moving forward, Bethany knows how to establish education programs to increase the healthcare workforce, including physicians, to meet the needs of Delawareans. She will work toward resolving the burden for more care communities, including assisted-living and memory care facilities. She will do everything in her power to get legislation passed to end these two healthcare burdens in Delaware.
We all need her commitment, knowledge and experience to resolve these healthcare burdens in Delaware. Nobody else has this!
I am voting for Bethany. If you have parents, friends, family and more with these needs, I strongly recommend you vote for her too.
Lastly, as Bethany said to me years ago, “When you make a mistake, use it as a lesson learned and don’t let it happen again.” She surely learned a valuable lesson this year. We all have. Move on!
