Harvey Brandner Jr., enjoyed life on the water

Harvey “Capt’n Harv” Brandner Jr. passed away April 17, 2023, one day before his 81st birthday, after a challenging battle with cancer, while under the care of hospice and his wife, Lori. Harvey never met a stranger. He spent most of his adult life in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, where he and Lori shared hours of boat time on the water with their friends. In recent years, they moved to Florida to spend their retirement together on the water, in a most beautiful spot.  

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Odetta and Harvey Brandner. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Loraine (Lori) Brandner; two daughters, Terry Warrington and Bonnie Myers (Tom); stepchildren, Lynette McCarthy (Jerry) and Jay Bristol (Donna); sister, Kay Bleile (Scott); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who loved him.  

Harvey loved life, his family, friends, Jimmy Buffett, Calypso music, dancing, boating, the water, sports, and most of all having fun! 

Harvey was a 1961 graduate of Lord Baltimore High School, now part of Indian River School District, where he lettered in football and played other beloved sports.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Indian River Athletics, Attn: Todd Fuhrmann, 29772 Armory Road, Dagsboro, DE  19939. Write in honor or memory of Harvey Brandner in the memo line and designate an area if wished.

There will be no services at his request. 

The family would like to thank hospice and all of the neighbors, friends and family who have helped Harvey and Lori throughout this journey. We truly are thankful for your constant support!
