HealTree to host art journaling program Nov. 5

October 24, 2023

HealTree will present a program on art journaling, guided by Betsy Harting, from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 5, at 1632 Savannah Road, Suite 10, Lewes.

Color theory is both the science and art of using color. It explains how humans perceive color and the visual effects of how colors mix, match or contrast with each other. Color theory also involves the messages colors communicate. Colors may be used to express how one feels and may influence feelings as well. For example, blue often represents stability while green represents healing.

In this workshop, participants will learn about color theory and create their own art journals. Harting will guide attendees through a practice that will allow for stress reduction, promote healing through color and invite creative expression. All supplies are included, and the cost is $45 per person.

Harting’s entire life has been devoted to artistic expression where she has excelled in art, music and dance, but her passion is teaching art journaling as a means of creative self-expression. She truly loves inspiring others to explore color and art journaling without limitations or critical thinking. She has designed craft kits for Crayola, had works published in numerous arts and crafts magazines, and led art journaling workshops for more than 15 years.
