Helen M. Dominguez, retired school nurse
Helen M. Dominguez, 96, of Milford, and formerly of Bethlehem, Pa., passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at The Moorings at Lewes.
Helen was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Bethlehem, Pa., to the late Emil and Hermina (Ofchus) Mitman.
Helen was a school nurse in Bethlehem for 44 years before her retirement brought her to Milford. She was a faithful member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Milford Senior Center, Red Hat Society, and Milford Garden Club. Her love of gardening led her to write her own guide to flower growing.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Emil Mitman, Frank Mitman, Edward Mitman and Florence Linden.
She will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael E. and Beth May Dominguez; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Grogan and husband Thomas, Shawn Dominguez, and Nicole May; her great-grandchild, Carmine Grogan; and her nieces and nephews, Frank Mitman Jr., Nancy Mitman, James Mitman, Jeanie Mitman, Robyn Scouse, Denise Elison, Greg Mitman, Jimmy Linden, Ann Linden Frederickson, John Linden and Dave Linden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, Saturday, July 22, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Ave., Milford. A time of visitation will be held at the church’s parish hall beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Milford Community Cemetery.
