During the recent storm, many Sussex County residents suffered loss or damage to their mailboxes – such as these along Route 9 near Lewes – created by snow flying off Delaware Department of Transportation snow plows.
There is help.
Money is available through the state's insurance coverage office to cover mailbox damage. Phone 1-877-277-4185 or email InsCov@state.de.us for more information.
“When we receive significant snowfalls, we unfortunately see mailbox damage, especially on smaller two-lane roads,” said DelDOT spokeswoman Louise Holt.
