Henry A. Presley, Army veteran
Henry A. Presley, 82, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, in the peace and comfort of his home in Selbyville. He was born Jan. 7, 1942, in Takoma Park, Md., and he embarked on a life well-lived, full of devotion to his family.
After honorably serving in the U.S. Army, Henry went on to have a lifelong career as a machinist at the Baxter Company, where he was respected for his skill and work ethic. Henry was active in his community, shown through his membership at the Victory Baptist Church in Selbyville and his participation in the Potomac Falconers Association. He poured his passion into flying hawks, a hobby that brought him great joy. A man of many interests, he also adored working on cars, and he could often be found in the company of his beloved dogs, Rusty and Snoopy.
William is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Presley; mother, Mary (Ellington) Presley; son, Edward Presley; and two brothers, Floyd Presley Jr. and James Presley. He is survived by two children, his son, Mark Presley (Laura) of Flowery Branch, Ga.; and daughter, Julie L. Ramos of Selbyville; and six grandchildren, Robbie, Perla, Benito, Enrique, Estrellaa and Ruby. He treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the apples of his eye.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 20, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 South Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Millsboro.
