Hilda ‘Gail’ Donaway, always creative

Hilda “Gail” Donaway, 70, of Bridgeville passed away tragically Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at her home. She was born March 21, 1951, in Berlin, Md., daughter of the late Norman and Hazel (Lewis) Cropper.

Gail had many interests and hobbies, including sewing, painting and crafting. Always creative, she made all of her family’s Christmas gifts this year by hand. Gail loved her family dearly, but nothing brought as much joy as her grandchildren – the apples of her eye, she adored them. Gail was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Gail is survived by her children, Sheila Donaway Warrington (Wayne) of Bridgeville, and Shane Donaway (Rachel) of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren, Beau Warrington (Jenna), Ali Warrington (Kyler LeCates), Bret Warrington, and Sydney Donaway; her great-grandchild, Case LeCates; her brother, Geoff Cropper (Kathy) of Long Neck; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her loyal canine and service companion, Trixie Doodle.

Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.
