Hilovsky works tirelessly for veterans

October 10, 2024

Are you one of the roughly 70,000 U.S. veterans living in Delaware? Or one of the 30,000-plus spouses? How about a family member of a vet? This number comprises about 10% of our total Delaware population, and this letter is about the efforts Jeff Hilovsky has put forth to support our veterans. After taking office two years ago, Jeff found that Delaware ranks near the bottom of all U.S. states receiving federal assistance to support our veterans. He set forth a dynamic plan to establish a secretary of veterans affairs cabinet staff alongside the other gubernatorial positions. Jeff is pushing hard to increase the number of full-time veterans service officers to manage the immense case load. He is working to increase the pension exemption in order to attract veterans with skills needed in our workforce.

In addition to supporting the needs of veterans, Jeff works tirelessly to get the job done and has proven repeatedly his willingness to support us, to include daily coordination with DNREC and DelDOT to unravel the myriad issues surrounding the local expansive development. Jeff does not dwell on party politics (how refreshing!), but he does very much want to champion the needs of his district.

For all of us in the Fourth District, I know Jeff wakes up every day ready to work for and support his constituents. He needs our vote to continue the good fight.
