History of etiquette program set April 28

April 23, 2025

Rehoboth Beach Public Library will host The History of Etiquette: Why We Do What We Do from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 28, at 226 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Delaware Humanities speaker Lisa Strong Chase will take attendees on a trip through time with props, costume changes and a bit of audience participation.

Chase will reveal how the demonstration of good manners was key to survival throughout various historical periods, including the Colonial era in the Americas. She will also cover the etiquette of pandemics, from the Spanish Flu in 1918 to the more recent COVID-19, and discuss the ways in which pandemics have changed social interaction.
