Love Creek Elementary School substitute teacher Diana Hoenen was recently named the recipient of the October Going the Extra Mile Award from the Cape school board.
Board member Jason Bradley said Hoenen is dedicated and hardworking.
“Diana consistently goes above and beyond in her role, providing a stable, engaging and supportive learning environment for our scholars,” he said during the Nov. 14 school board meeting.
Bradley said Hoenen willingly responds to last-minute calls for classroom coverage, making sure students have little disruption in their studies.
“She eagerly steps into any role that is needed, whether it’s supporting classroom instruction or assisting in other areas of the school. Her adaptability and positive attitude make her a true asset to our school community,” Bradley said.
Hoenen’s warm smile creates a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere for both students and staff, he said, and she is committed to excellence during every student interaction.
“Her patience and attention to students’ needs foster a productive and positive classroom environment, allowing her to quickly build rapport and effectively manage any classroom she enters,” Bradley said. “In short, Diana’s unwavering dedication and positivity have a meaningful impact at Love Creek Elementary, making her an invaluable part of our team.”
