Holy Spirit Anglican Church donates items to Maryland shelter
Holy Spirit Anglican Church delivered donated gloves, hats, socks, neck warmers, toys and daily devotional books Dec. 23 to the Christian Shelter in Salisbury, Md.
Holy Spirit members delivering the donations were the Rev. Vern Caswell, Toi Chambers and Mary Thomson. The shelter was managed by church member Jim Barnes until he was recently called to work in Maine. Nearly half of Holy Spirit's congregants are active with Kairos Prison Ministry and are looking forward to Family Promise becoming operational in the area.
Holy Spirit is holding weekly services at 9 a.m., Sundays. Attendees practice social distancing and there is ample room for visitors. Services also are streamed via Facebook Live.
