Staff photographer Deny Howeth tested a new lens June 8 as the moon was waxing to a full “strawberry moon” June 9. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the strawberry moon gets its name from Algonquin tribes who knew it as a signal to gather ripening fruit.
