The 16th annual Horseshoe Crab and Shorebird Festival kicked off May 25 at Milton Memorial Park and Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge.
The event drew hundreds to the two locations. At the park, visitors sampled food trucks, listened to music from DJ Sky Brady and shopped from vendors selling horseshoe crab-related wares. Kids played on the playground or enjoyed train rides around the park.
At Prime Hook, the main attraction was to touch a horseshoe crab, but the refuge also hosted a bird walk, kayaking and butterfly-box building.
