Hot dogs stroll in Sea Witch dog parade
Some dogs were dressed like hot dogs, but all the dogs and their owners were hot from summer-like temperatures Oct. 29 at the Sea Witch Dog Costume Parade.
The annual stroll stepped off from the north end of the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk with Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Carol Everhart leading the way, as usual.
Hundreds of decked-out dogs enjoyed a walk in front of the huge crowd. There were dogs dressed like wieners and wiener dogs dressed like other things.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes donned football jerseys, wigs and hats. Some came as superheroes.
There was a wide variety of people costumes too, like Barbie, witches and, yes, owners dressed like dogs.
The parade started in front of the Henlopen Hotel, went down the Boardwalk to Laurel Street and up First Street to the Bandstand.
Everhart announced the costume winners, who took home a box of dog treats. Winners can be found on the chamber’s website, www.beach-fun.com.
